photo1On 11th of April, 2013, the presentation of the book “Armenia-EU economic relations. The impact of the Deep and Comprehensive Free trade Agreement on the bilateral trade relations” was held at the Centre for European Studies. The book is a research on EU-Armenia trade relations, on Deep and Comprehensive Free trade Agreement (DCFTA) which was made by Levon Barkhudaryan, Koryun Danielyan, Diana Galoyan, Grigor Hayrapetyan and was published by the Centre for European studies. During the presentation all the authors of the research introduced the parts that were developed by them. The book consists of 5 parts on public and trade reforms, business environment, on economic relations between Armenia and each EU states and about the benefits of the DCFTA. The coordination of the book was made by the former minister of Economy and finance, economist Levon barkhudaryan.

During the presentation the deputy minister of the ministry of economy of Armenia Tigran Harutyunyan introduced the current situation of the Armenia-EU negotiations on DCFTA. The negotiations are going on smoothly and already 3 parts of the Agreement are concluded. Mr. Harutyunyan noted that all the parts of the Agreement are already agreed on and are not contradicting to the policy of Armenia. It’s just the matter of work which is continuing to be done for the final conclusion.

Levon Barkhudaryan mentioned that the DCFTA will have a great impact on the economy of Armenia, the taxes will be annulled on the goods and it will assure competitive business environment. However the Agreement will not work unless the import belong to the monopoly.

The book is published in both Armenian and English and is available for wide range of public.
